Topline Studios Verification (verify.toplinestudios.gg) · Effective September 14, 2026
Who we are
This service is run by the staff of the Topline Studios Discord community. It exists for one purpose: linking your Roblox account to your Discord account so you can access our Discord server. You can contact us any time through the Topline Studios Discord server (staff or modmail).
How verification works
Your personal link from Discord opens a page that launches our Roblox game, Mafia. When you join the game lobby through that link, the game server tells this service which Roblox account joined and the game shows you a short one-time code. Entering that code on the page completes the link. There is no Roblox sign-in on this site and we never ask for your Roblox password.
What we collect
- Your Discord user ID, taken from the personal verification link you generate in our Discord server.
- Your public Roblox user ID, username and display name, reported by the Mafia game server when you join the lobby through your verification link.
- Timestamps of when the link was created or updated, and a short-lived record of the verification attempt (the one-time code and how many times it was entered), deleted within a day.
- A one-way salted hash of the IP address you use when you open your verification link and when you complete verification (never the raw address), used only for the abuse controls described below.
Nothing else. We never see your Roblox password or email, and this service never signs in to your Roblox account. Your public Roblox avatar image may be shown on the page so you can confirm the right account joined; it is loaded from Roblox and not stored beyond the verification attempt.
What we use it for
- Proving that a Discord account and a Roblox account belong to the same person (the Verified role).
- Showing your Roblox username as your nickname in our Discord server.
- Entitlements tied to your Roblox account (for example, gamepass-based roles).
- Moderation of our community.
Abuse prevention (IP)
To stop banned members from evading a ban by making new accounts, we keep a one-way salted hash of the IP address used when you open your verification link and when you complete verification. A network is blocked from verifying when a member who verified from it is banned from our community, or when our moderators block it for abuse. Blocked attempts to verify are reported to our moderators, and moderators can see which verified accounts share a blocked network. We never store or display your raw IP address, and we cannot recover it from the hash. A block can be lifted by our moderators; contact staff if you believe your network was blocked by mistake (for example a shared school or household connection).
During verification we also check your IP against proxycheck.io, a third-party service, to detect VPNs and proxies (which are not permitted for verification). Only the IP address is sent for this check; no Discord or Roblox information is shared with them.
Storage and retention
The data is stored in a private database on a server we operate. The account link is kept while the community operates, or until you ask us to remove it. Verification attempts (codes) expire after ten minutes and are deleted within a day.
Sharing
We never sell or share this data with third parties. It is visible to the server's staff team. Note that your Roblox username is publicly visible to other members as your Discord nickname.
Cookies
The verification flow uses a single short-lived functional cookie (15 minutes) that ties your browser to the verification you started, so nobody else can enter your code. There are no analytics or tracking cookies.
Your rights
- Ask server staff to unlink or delete your data at any time.
- Verifying again with a different Roblox account replaces the previous link.
